History of Acrobatics
Acrobatics began with Adam and Eve. When Adam first swept Eve into his arms, or he picked up his first born son, Cain, informal acrobatics occurred. Acrobatics is natural child's play as children "dog pile" on top of one another, or play "chicken fights" upon each other's shoulders. Acrobatics is the natural "showing off" of the smitten little boy balancing a stick on his nose or standing on his hands to impress the little girl. Acrobatics is a natural form of entertainment, the natural outgrowth of "showing off." Modern gymnastics is rooted in the acrobatic history of man. Equipment was invented as a training aid for acrobatics, then became an end in themselves.
Knowing the history of acrobatic development will broaden both the eyes of coach and athlete alike as they understand what acrobatics can be used for. As a competitive sport it is a beautiful expression of artistry that combines the creativity of dance with the daring of gymnastics. As a performance medium it is a highly entertaining vehicle for large pyramid constructions to hilarious circus clowning. As a family activity it is a natural means of bonding as parents play with children and siblings play together. As a ministry acrobatics illustrates the dynamics of body life as we team together and work as a unified whole. Acrobatics is a gift from God to man for it demonstrates the glory of human life stretching the limits of the laws of creation.

We hope you love the licorice of acrobatics as much as we do.
