Acrobatic Shows
Acrobatics is a natural for shows. The movement vocabulary in the competitive arena - which is much - is still a small amount compared to what is available for entertainment. Circus acrobatics is thousands of years older than competition gymnastics.
Acrobatics can be used to promote your program in advertisement at street faires and all community activities. It takes no equipment, only high ceilings. Shows in the gym, or on stage are naturals. Dance studios can add acrobatics to their program to enhance their annual recitals. Group Gymnastics programs can use acrobatics for their Team Shows.
For many years, I created acrobatic entertainment for the Carol Hillenberg State meets with shows that were woven around the meet rotations to entertain the parents while they waited for the children to compete. There are many professional companies now where athletes can go after concluding their competitive careers. More athletes will greater opportunities to perform professionally than those who go to the Olympics. Entertainment does not require extemely high skill levels, although that is better, but, rather, engaging and charismatic personaliies. The bottom line: audiences are more interested in the personality of the performers than their stunt abilities.
